I was reading a bit about gratitude because ya know, it’s Thanksgiving week and things are getting a little extra great around here.
Some cool facts I’ve read:
1. Cultivating gratitude and positive emotions can reduce stress hormones, like cortisol, by as much as 23%.
2. In one study 40% of people who had sleep disorders improved the duration and quality of sleep by making nightly lists of things they were grateful for.
3. Gratitude is linked with optimism, which can improve the body’s immune response in certain situations, resulting in an increase in white blood cells needed to fight disease.
4. Gratitude can lower risks of depression, improves self-esteem, and can even help overcome trauma and improve mental resilience during hard times.
